5 SENT Fellows Named FINALISTS in 2021 OSV Challenge

On the cusp of Labor Day this weekend, we celebrate work by taking a rest from it. As humans, we are designed for labor, for work. And work is good. To create, produce, and channel energy toward some effort, no matter how seemingly small or grand, can be quite sanctifying. Like any good thing, too much of it or done in the wrong way can actually be detrimental, even destructive.

One way to allow your work to build you up instead of tear you down is to try to do it with peace in your body and mind — hold something back when diving into a project or activity. Try not to give yourself over to freneticism or haste. Once this haste takes over, it can be hard to recover your peace. Finding micro-breaks during the day to step outside, pray, or talk to someone, can also help us to maintain greater equilibrium.

I pray you and yours have a joyful Labor Day filled with all that is good and peaceful.

With prayer,
