ABOUT Joe and Evette Nowicki

Joe and Evette Nowicki founded and continue to develop Holy Family Retreat at Remnant Ranch, Inc. as a Catholic 501(c)(3) hosting individual and group retreats on their ranch in southeastern Oklahoma.

Married for over three decades, they are proud parents of their two adult sons, Joseph and David, and are eagerly expecting the birth of their first grandson later this year. Having experienced life-giving spiritual rejuvenation, healing, and growth in retreats they have taken themselves, they felt led to provide a place for others to experience the same on retreat.

A cradle Catholic and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Joe was a carrier-based Naval Flight Officer and flight instructor for nine years.  Thereafter, he joined Chatham Financial and managed global client relationships for 23 years, helping to grow the practice from 35 to over 900 professionals globally.  He now serves Chatham as a Fellow.

Evette graduated from the University of Miami (FL) with two engineering degrees. After several years of homeschooling and caring for their sons in the home, she earned a master's degree in teaching mathematics from Western Governors University and was a High School Math Teacher for twenty years.

Early in their marriage, Evette became a Catholic and developed a tremendous passion for studying the faith and sharing it with others in Bible studies and reading groups as well as marriage focused ministry.  Joe is passionate about ministry to entrepreneurs, men seeking authentic fellowship, college students, and both engaged and married couples.

In 2019, Joe was shot in a hunting accident and nearly lost his life. Following over a dozen surgeries and intense rehabilitation, Joe and Evette counted the string of miracles that occurred to allow him to live. They realized anew the depth of love that God the Father has for every one of us. It became obvious that there was more that God was calling them to do in this life, including founding and developing the Retreat at Remnant Ranch.

Joe and Evette fervently endeavor to help others grow in relationship with Jesus Christ, see themselves as the beloved sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father they are, and to experience the peace and joy that comes from God’s transformative healing of our wounding.

Self-described nomads for the Lord, they bounce between Florida, Oklahoma and Colorado as they feel called to serve family, ministries, and one another.
