SENT Local Briefing: What it is and Where It’s Going

“In our faith and to grow spiritually with God, we need a community to grow with.”

This is what Fernando María De Navascués Cuadros, the driving force behind the launch of SENT Local Communities, believes.

He’s right. In Matthew 18:20, Jesus says, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

By launching SENT Local, we are taking the next step to help our members grow through a present community in both their spiritual and their business lives. And we’re starting in San Diego!

The Launch

On March 11th at Rancho Bernardo, we will host a night of Adoration and confession, Mass, a social hour for networking, dinner, and small group discussions about the event’s speaker, Dan Peate!

Dan Peate is the Founder and Managing Director of Peate Ventures. He also founded insurtech companies Avinew and Hixme and is recognized as an industry leader globally. During his time on stage, Dan will walk the group through his personal business experiences and everything he’s learned. It’ll give you food for thought — alongside your actual meal — to discuss with your dinner table!

When deciding where to start our local communities, it was an easy choice. Many of our members are already based in Southern California and they were all clamoring for in-person events. So we listened!

What’s Next

This launch is only the beginning. Once a chapter begins, community events will be hosted once a quarter, and in 2025, we’re planning to increase the yearly number of events even more to make sure that you’re getting the highest value for your membership.

And our next chapters aren’t far behind. Our Washington, D.C. community will kick off within the next few months and a New York City chapter will follow! And these chapters won’t be carbon copies — each event will be tailored to the specific chapter’s unique wants and needs so that you are being served exactly what you need.

Though we’re starting these regional communities now, we’ve wanted to integrate local chapters into SENT for a long time. Community and connection is at the heart of what we do. But it’s a big undertaking. To make it happen, we needed the right person to lead the launch: Fernando.

How It Happened

Fernando, an entrepreneurial and management consulting whiz, connected with SENT founder John Cannon in Boston a couple of years ago. And so the seeds were sown. When our team was ready to focus on SENT Local, John knew who to call.

“I thought it was a very beautiful idea,” said Fernando. “I could serve God through my talents in an entrepreneurial venture like this one.”

Fernando brought his passion for entrepreneurship and faith together in this project because he believes that SENT offers something special and that local communities could elevate it even further.

“The message of SENT is that you can become saints in the middle of the world and in your professional career,” said Fernando. “What a local chapter offers is a community of other entrepreneurs who are strong and willing to grow in their spiritual life with God in a context of similar professional ventures.”

We use four key ingredients to help these communities of future saints thrive: powerful liturgy and prayer, “holy collisions” with other leaders, challenging content that inspires growth, and practical help with your business.

These key elements are the pillars of the SENT Summit experience. By integrating these into SENT Local, we hope to lay the groundwork for more and more local SENT chapters where faith-based founders and executives can grow alongside each other, in person.
